Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 10, 2026
Autumnal Games LLC ("Autumnal Games," "we," "us") operates autumnalgames.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
We keep data collection minimal. There are no user accounts on this site, and we don't sell or rent personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
The only information you actively provide is what you enter into our email signup form. If you subscribe to our mailing list or join The Harvesters, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your first name, if you choose to provide it
- The tag or list you signed up through, which tells us what you were interested in
That form is operated by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores and processes this information on our behalf. Kit may also record the date you subscribed, your IP address at signup, and whether you open or click our emails.
If you buy or download a game. Some of our games use a Kit form that appears directly on this site, including pay-what-you-want options. When you complete one of those forms, you provide your email address and, if you choose to pay, your payment details. Kit handles the transaction and uses Stripe to process payments. We receive your email address, what you bought, and the amount you paid.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, standard technical information is collected through analytics and hosting infrastructure:
- Pages you viewed and how long you stayed
- Approximate location, derived from IP address at the city or region level
- Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
- The site or search engine that referred you
- IP address, processed by our hosting and security providers
This information is aggregated and used to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. We don't use it to identify individual people.
Information we don't collect
To be explicit about what isn't happening on the site:
- We don't have user accounts, logins, or passwords
- We don't collect biometric information
If we begin serving advertising in the future, this policy may be updated before that happens and the effective date will change.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Send you email you asked to receive, including game releases, event announcements, and material for The Harvesters
- Deliver the games you buy or download
- Understand which pages and articles are working so we can improve them
- Diagnose technical problems and protect the site from abuse
- Understand how people find us through search
We do not sell personal information. We do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third-party services
We rely on the following services, each of which has its own privacy practices:
Kit: Email list management, delivery, and checkout. Kit stores subscriber information and processes email engagement data.
Stripe: Payment processing for Kit transactions. Stripe collects and processes payment card information directly and is subject to its own privacy policy and PCI obligations.
Google Analytics: Website traffic measurement. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data as described above.
Google Search Console: Search performance reporting. This uses aggregated search data and does not identify individual visitors.
Cloudflare: Content delivery and security. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request data to route traffic and block malicious activity.
GitHub Pages: Website hosting. GitHub processes request logs, including IP addresses.
Where purchases happen
Some purchases happen through a Kit form on this site, as described above. Everything else is sold through itch.io, DriveThruRPG, and select independent retailers. When you follow a link from our site to one of those storefronts, you leave our site, and that company's privacy policy governs the transaction. We may receive aggregated sales reports from those platforms, which do not include your payment details.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish returning visitors from new ones and to measure sessions. Kit may set a cookie if you interact with the signup form. Stripe may set cookies for fraud detection on pages where its checkout loads. Cloudflare may set a security cookie to identify trusted traffic.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will continue to work normally if you do. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Unfortunately, there's no industry standard right now for how sites should respond to it, and we don't respond to it at this time.
Your choices and rights
Email. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and removes you from all future mailings.
Access, correction, and deletion. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Our legal basis for sending you email is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Our legal basis for analytics and security processing is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the site. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
To exercise any of these rights, email us. We do not require you to create an account to make a request.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Some of our games and articles are family-friendly and may be read by children, but the email signup form is intended for adults.
Data retention
We keep subscriber email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information. Unsubscribed addresses may be retained in a suppression list so that we do not accidentally email you again.
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default retention settings. Server and security logs are retained by our hosting and security providers according to their own schedules.
Data location
We operate from the United States, and our service providers store data in the United States. If you access this site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Security
We use HTTPS across the entire site. We rely on the security practices of Kit, Google, Cloudflare, and GitHub for the data they hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top. If we make a material change, such as introducing advertising or a new category of data collection, we will note it clearly and, where required, ask for your consent.
